Message from Patrick Byrne, president of ‘Healing of Memories’.
‘Similarly to last year, I am pleased to invite you and your parishioners to a public event which will take place just after our AGM.
We will be screening the documentary film (35’): The Wound is Where the Light Enters by the Indian film director Dheeraj Akolkar, on Saturday 8 June 2024 at 3.45 pm at the Fieldgen School (cafeteria), 7 rue André Duchscher, Luxembourg-Gare.
The film’s action is set in Uganda. It is the story of 15 adolescents born of war rape, who take part in an art and psychosocial programme to help them heal. The film accompanies them in a beautifully touching way as they create their performance, based on their own words, songs and body movements.
The screening will be followed by a livestream discussion with the film director.
The film’s producers are asking our audience to generously support the UK charity GRACE INTERNATIONAL, which seeks to train and empower young people born in war situations and their communities in Uganda and in other regions of the world.
You will find attached a flyer with all the relevant details.
Do not hesitate to pass this information on to anyone who might be interested.
To help us organise the event, we would ask anyone wishing to attend to register by emailing: healing@healing-memories.lu‘
