From today, 5 September 2021, we will be organising two editions of the Children’s Liturgy every Sunday:

– at 10:30am on Zoom;

– during Mass at 11:30am in the Church of St Alphonse.

To take part in either edition of the Children’s Liturgy, children must be registered using this form.

Children’s Liturgy restarting at St Alphonse

With a new school year starting, so the Children’s Liturgy returns to St Alphonse this Sunday 5 September 2021.

There will be two editions of the Children’s Liturgy every Sunday:

  • at 10:30am on Zoom
  • during Mass at 11:30am in Church

All children who have not yet done their First Holy Communion (age range roughly 3-7 years) are welcome to join the Children’s Liturgy.

The Children’s Liturgy during Mass will be held in a room in the Redemptorist Monastery (Couvent) attached to the Church or – weather permitting – in the garden. Children will be invited to go to the back of church, each with one parent, at the beginning of Mass. Parents will be welcome to stay or to return to church. The children will return to church at the Offertory and will be brought by the catechists to their parents.

For both editions of the Children’s Liturgy, children must be registered using this form:

Parents who have registered their child will receive the link to the Zoom edition by email the day before.

World Day of Migrants & Refugees – Sunday 26 September

Each parish has been called to celebrate World Day of Migrants and Refugees by Pope Francis in his message ‘Towards an ever wider We’ and Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich supports this in his letter below.

Please read the letter below with the detail of the 11.30am Mass which will be celebrated at St Alphonse and the church will be decorated with the work of a local artist.

As part of the challenge to mark the occasion there will be a collection of coloured pencils and felt-tip pens for children in refugee centres.
