Feast of the Baptism of the Lord year A. 

First Reading: Isaiah 42:1-4. 6-7 Isaiah’s prophecy of the blessings the Messiah will bring.

Second Reading: Acts 10:34-38 God does not have favourites

Gospel: Matthew 3:13-17 Jesus is baptised in the Jordan by John, and the voice from heaven affirms him as Son and beloved.
