Reminder from newsletter: There will be a meeting for young people interested in preparing for the sacrament of confirmation, and their parents, after the 11.15 Mass on this coming Sunday, 10 November, in the Garden Room in the courtyard of St Alphonse.
This is a 2 year programme and candidates should be at least 14 years old by the end of the current school year. More information will be given at the meeting and it is important that young people enrol as quickly as possible after the meeting as the first class will be in the third week of November.
If you have any additional questions after the meeting, please contact the parish office: parish@catholic.lu
We have a very enthusiastic children’s choir, and they enjoy singing at Mass for our community and occasionally at outside celebrations, for example for the Cardinal – see previous post:
They rehearse after the 11.15 Mass on Sundays and new leaders and helpers are needed. You do not need to be available every week but if you can assist occasionally, please speak to Helen or Kristine in the music group or contact the parish office: parish@catholic.lu
Please see below an invitation from the Cardinal to all children and young people to join a choir for the Luxembourg diocese. Their first performance will be at a special celebration of thanksgiving as below.
Michael Lapsley is an Anglican priest and founder of the Institute for Healing of Memories in South Africa. There is an opportunity to meet Michael on Tuesday 26 November at 19.30 at the Salle St. Ignace, 23 avenue Gaston Diderich, L-1420 Luxembourg. Michael will be giving a workshop on the subject of healing of memories from 6-8 December this year, in Hosingen. The workshop will be given in English, French and Arabic.
Please see the flyers below for more information about Michael, the opportunity to meet him, and to enrol in the workshop.
Two great feasts of the Church occur this week: on Friday, All Saints, celebrating all the faithful departed who are in the presence of God in glory; All Souls commemorates those we have loved and lost and who we commend to God’s mercy, confident they too will be received into glory.
You are, of course, welcome to all Masses!
Masses in English:
