Confession for Christmas (dates amended!)
Confession for Christmas
This weekend, 1st/2nd December, the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available after our English-speaking Masses. Mass times are Saturday evening at 19:00, Sunday at 11:15 and 17:00 preceded by an hour of Eucharistic Adoration, with Benediction at 16:50.
The format is simple: we make a prayer of preparation together, including an Act of Contrition; a penance is suggested; then all are invited to come forward to the priest to confess and receive absolution. I have invited my Redemptorist confrères to assist me.
Obviously, this is not the time for more detailed confession or spiritual counsel: individual celebration of the Sacrament can be arranged by appointment.
Why not avail of this valuable opportunity before Christmas?
