Conference on Amazonian Synod

The recent Amazonian Synod will be seen as one of the defining events of the Francis Papacy – not least because it brought together his concerns about ecology and about global social injustice in Laudato Si.

Next Saturday, at 9.30, our Cardinal Hollerich and Cardinal Barreto from Peru will lead a conference (in English) about this Synod at the Jean XXIII Centre. Download full details here.

Straight after the conference we’ll have a meeting of anyone interested in our own tree-planting initiative as a way of making a small practical contribution against climate change. Contact Steve McCarthy.

First parish tree-planting day

Along with friends from the Anglican parish, more than twenty people, including several young people, came to plant eight trees on Saturday 9 November – and then enjoyed a barbecue lunch. Many thanks to everyone who took part and especially to Liz and Stuart for letting us plant them on their field.  Here are a few photos of the occasion:

Tree-planting – November 9

Stop Climate Change – Plant Trees!

Planting trees across the whole world is the most effective way to combat climate change. Would you like to be involved in a local tree-planting activity here in Luxembourg? Then come to a meeting on 20 October after the 11.15 Mass in the Monastery – room 11 A/B just inside the door from the car park. Everyone invited but young people are particularly welcome.
