SPIRITUAL EXERCISES
The Spiritual Exercises
The Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius consist in a programme of prayer and meditation with the aim of heightening and deepening our relationship with Christ and joy in our creator God, who is in love with each one of us. Although the programme is rather formally set out, the experience is always unique and personal, and frequently becomes a life-changing event. The Exercises are particularly appropriate when our lives seem to have become rather meaningless and empty, or when we feel ourselves at a turning-point.
Traditionally they are ‘given’ over the course of a thirty day silent retreat. But they can also be followed as a scheme of regular prayer in ‘daily life’ over a, typically, eight month period.
During the last few years I have directed several people from the anglophone community in Luxembourg in the Exercises in ‘daily life’. I would be happy to do so again during this new school year, for anyone who is interested and prepared to ‘take the risk’, and to make the necessary commitment of time.
If you want to find out more, or think you might be interested, please contact me either on 621 31 91 10 or by email: sjmc@pt.lu . All contact and discussion is confidential.

CONFIRMATIONS 2013
Our Confirmations for 2013 will take place on 26th May next year. There will be a meeting for all parents of eligible candidates immediately after the 11am Mass on Sunday 11 November in the sacristy at Hollerich. To qualify for confirmation in May, children must have reached the age of 14 by 1 January 2013. This is an important event for the parish, and it is necessary for us to prepare well in every way. Please remember these intentions in your prayers. Also, Zimran Javed from Pakistan who is undergoing surgery here in Luxembourg; Simon Lesh, Ciara Hurley & Angus MacKay who are unwell.

At Mass each weekend, we pray for all our intentions. If you would like to include the name of someone who is sick, please contact Fr Ed.
Likewise, we can include the name of someone who has died, or whose anniversary is occurring.
Our prayers for the sick at the moment include: Angus Mackay, Ciara Hurley, Père Benoit Rall CSsR & Père Aloyse Maurer CSsR. May God’s help and strength be with them, and all who are sick.
