I would like to bring to your attention a global event, on International Women’s Day, in support of Equality for Women in the Church, which highlights an important issue in the Church and which will be the focus at our 11.15 Mass on Sunday 8 March.

Members of our community and of our Diaconia committee are participating in a procession in Luxembourg to demonstrate support for this issue before Mass from the cathedral to St Alphonse in conjunction with many cities across Europe and the world, which is being spearheaded by Voices for Faith.  Further information on Voices for Faith can be found by clicking here

If you wish to be involved in this event in any way, please come along to a meeting after the 11.15 Mass this Sunday, 23 February, in the Garden Room.  Fr Ed.

This year’s Week of Guided Prayer during Lent will take place from Sunday 15 March to Saturday 21 March. There will be open presentations and discussions each evening as well as the possibility of confidential individual guidance from Fr HP and from our two visiting experienced prayer guides, Barbara and Margaret. Look out for further details here in the near future!

This year’s image is the famous Rublev icon. It represents the visit to Abraham of three angels, usually considered to represent the Holy Trinity (Gen 18). The unoccupied fourth place at table seems to invite the observer into the scene, as indeed we are all invited to share in the Divine Life of the Holy Trinity.

There will be a St Patrick’s Day Céilí (dance) in Gasperich on Saturday 14th March 2020.

Live music with the Kitchen Quartet and friends. Tickets €10 on the door (free for Comhaltas members). Doors open 7.30pm, céilí dancing starts 8pm.  Cash only bar.

Comhaltas, the Irish cultural association, are presenting a concert of traditional Irish music featuring Zoe Conway on Saturday 7th March at 20:00 in Hesperange. The artist is well worth hearing as her YouTube videos show. Full details can be found on the flyer

You may think the parish Meditation Group a bit unworldly, but when the threatened high winds meant that the Youth Group had to cancel their tree planting project last Sunday, it was members of the Meditation Group who ‘picked up the spades’…. The trees had to be planted that day so we, together with some of the local residents who had bought the trees, braved the threatened winds to do the job. Happily the wind and rain held off until we had finished the job by 16.30.
