17th Sunday in Ordinary Time, year A

Today’s Readings

First Reading  1 Kings 3:5. 7-12  Asked by the Lord which gift he would like to receive, Solomon answered ‘wisdom’. He was already wise: the Lord seeing his integrity granted this great gift.

Second Reading Romans 8:28-30  God co-operates with all those who love him.

Gospel Matthew 13:44-46 shorter form  We give up everything to hold on to what is truly important.

This week the choir will be continuing with the Belmont Mass setting, a simple but beautiful setting of the Mass texts. You can find a recording of the Belmont Mass (the Kyrie is missing) here
