A number of members of our parish expressed willingness to help those arriving in Luxembourg as refugees from violence and persecution in their home countries. It was gratifying to see the level of interest and response.

I have received the following message from John Coughlin, our representative with the archdiocese concerning this urgent humanitarian crisis:

“Dear fellow parishioners,
We have received the first specific request for assistance in helping refugees in Luxembourg, namely for someone to coordinate the distribution of meals at the new reception centre on Route d’Esch:

I am writing to you because you had expressed an interest in helping out. If you are available, or know someone else who might be – perhaps working in a team(?) – please let me know as soon as possible: as you see, the centre opens just a week from now.”
If you are willing to assist, or wish to know more, please contact John Coughlin directly. Parishioners have already volunteered: the more willing people we have, the more this important work is shared.
Many thanks in anticipation,
Fr Ed
