Five loaves. Two fishes. Do you think that is enough to feed five thousand men, as well as all the women and children who are with them?

In today’s Gospel, we hear how Jesus managed to do just that. And when everyone was finished, there were twelve baskets of leftovers!

How did he do it? Was it magic? Or does Jesus have another way of making miracles happen?

What would you do to make sure that a crowd of five thousand people all get enough to eat?

Children’s Liturgy online – 26 July 2020

In today’s Gospel story, Jesus tells us about a man who finds treasure in a field.

The man sells everything he has and buys the field so that he can keep the treasure.

Jesus says that the kingdom of God is like treasure in a field.

God’s kingdom is very special.

Watch the video and say a prayer to God to share what you think!

Children’s Liturgy online – 19 July 2020

200719 CLLast Sunday we planted seeds: beans, lentils, peppers, spinach… and more… in our living rooms and on our balconies… at a distance and all together on Zoom at the same time!

Our seeds are the parable stories, which grow inside us.

This Sunday, we hear another parable about how to take care of our plants. Jesus tells us not to worry about the weeds. What does this mean for you?

Jesus tells lots of stories – “parables”.

Why?

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells a story … about why he tells stories. He asks us to imagine that the stories are seeds. So this Sunday, in the Children’s Liturgy (at 10:45 on Zoom), we are going to plant seeds. What do you think will happen to the seeds? And the stories? Let’s see…

Does God help us or make our lives difficult?

In today’s Gospel story, Jesus thanks God for helping him and helping us.

He says that we should learn from him.

And the best thing? He says that it’s not clever grown-ups who understand this, but children!
