ST ALPHONSE CRECHE 2014

This year we have constructed the crèche at St Alphonse using the figures of the Holy Family rediscovered last year. The theme of the tableau, situated in front of the main altar, is ‘Crib, Cross & Eucharist‘ — three themes linked in the writings of St Alphonse himself. The leaflet for the crèche can be found here in English, here in French, here in Italian and here in Spanish.  Our Portuguese and German translators are already on holiday!

URGENT APPEAL update

The young homeless man (Bjorn) who has been sleeping at the door of the church recently is in urgent need of practical help — he has severe toothache, and needs to go to hospital. Are you available today to help? You would be needed to collect him, take him to hospital and accompany him: our parish can take care of expenses incurred. I myself have a full timetable today (and I’m likely to do so for the next few days, for reasons already explained). If you are able to help, please contact me as soon as possible (email or 691 217 713).

Thanks,

Fr Ed

Update

Offers of help for Bjorn were gratefully received and he has received the required treatment. Thank you for your generous response to this urgent appeal — Christ was truly served.
