A SINCERE ‘THANK-YOU’ FROM P. RALL

On 30 June a Mass of thanksgiving was celebrated in St Alphonse in honour of the long years of faithful service given by P. Rall to the European Parish.  P. Erny Gillen, the Vicaire Général, celebrated the Mass. Many people wished to express their appreciation of the ministry of P. Rall: our own parish council sent him a gift on behalf of the English-speaking section of the parish.  P. Rall sent us the following message:

Dear Friends,
I have been very touched by the sentiments you have expressed and the generosity you have shown me
on the occasion of my retirement as Moderateur of the European parish.

I would like to express here my sincere thanks.
You will always be present in my heart,  my thoughts, and in my prayers.

In addition, he asked that we distribute this prayer and picture, entitled Merci.

We are delighted that P. Rall appears to be recovering well, and we continue to keep him in our prayers.

15 AUGUST — FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION OF OUR LADY

This Thursday we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady. Mass in English will be celebrated at 11:15 at St Alphonse. On this day, the Church rejoices in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, manifest in all the saints, and above all in Mary, Mother of God. She who was full of grace cannot but be united with God in heaven. In the communion of the saints, she is united with us also, praying with us and for us.

COUNTING TEAM

We now have a team of counters who, in pairs, count the weekend collection after Sunday Mass. We would like to expand the team so that each member will have to volunteer no more than once every six weeks or so. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Marcella. To celebrate the birth of George Alexander Louis, the baby born to the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, the British Embassy here in Luxembourg would like to give a souvenir to any baby born on the same day, Monday 22 July.
