The event is being held on Wednesday 18 March at 10am at the Lycée Michel Lucius, and we have been invited to send a representative. It strikes me that a parent representative would be appropriate here — any offers? Passage Website Launch: Press Conference Invitation Please join us on Wednesday 18th March at 10 am at the Lycée Michel Lucius

” Parenting is a challenging job wherever you are in the world. In Luxembourg many parents are doing this without extended family support. We recognize the need to provide a forum for this community to exchange information, advice and support.” What is Passage? Passage, the Parent Support Group for the English speaking community in Luxembourg, are launching their long-awaited website on Wednesday March 18th. The group, voluntarily run by parents for parents, has been operating for over 2 years providing a Support Group and seminars for parents around the challenges of modern day parenting. They also facilitate a Professionals Network for anyone working in the field of education, health or child development in Luxembourg. The aim of the website is to be a ‘living’ resource for the growing international community of parents who would like information, advice or signposting in English. The intention is to raise awareness of the many children and parent-centered services in Luxembourg, whilst bringing together information and advice regarding issues of interest to parents. At the heart of the website is the ‘Rites of Passage’ section that takes parents on a developmental journey from conception to children leaving home. The group, which has so far been funded by generous Friends of Passage and a ‘Car-boot sale’, hope to raise funds to keep providing and developing services like the upcoming ‘Mindfulness for Parents’ (Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy) course that starts on Thursday 23rd April. About the press conference Where: Lycée Michel Lucius is located at 157 Avenue Pasteur, L-2311 Limpertsberg, Luxembourg. When: Wednesday 18th March at 10am. The conference will last approx 1 hour and refreshments will be served. By car: Parking is available but limited in and around the school vicinity. Other options include the Glacis car-park or the Parking Robert Schuman, which are both 1.3km away from the Lycée on foot. By bus: Bus 3, direction Lycée Michel Lucius from the Glacis. Over the years, the former Paroisse Européenne has been generous and consistent in its support of a variety of projects in Burkina Faso, including projects in Garango which we in the English-speaking community continue to support. Mme Marie Pierre Gleis-Capelle is one of the driving forces in raising funds for Burkina Faso, and she has recently returned from a two-week visit. The Irish cultural organisation Comhaltas are celebrating St Patrick’s Day early this year with a Ceili in Gasperich on Saturday 14 March.

The event will give participants the chance to try traditional country dancing, which will be explained to beginners with the help of an announcer/caller.

This event is hosted at the Gasperich Parish Hall, 35 rue de Gasperich, L1617 from 8pm. Entry is €10 on the door, or free to members.
