Following the success of our recent sale of clothes, a second sale is planned for 8th November, in the parish meeting room (in the garden at St Alphonse). Any more autumn/winter clothes are welcome. All proceeds to Garango, Burkina Faso.

Saturday 1st November is All Saints Day, a great feast here in Luxembourg and throughout the world. Masses follow Sunday times: 19:00 Friday 31st October, and 11:15 on Saturday 1st November. The evening Mass on the Saturday will be the Vigil Mass for All Souls Day; likewise on Sunday 2nd November at 11:15 we will celebrate All Souls, the feast where we remember especially those we have loved and lost.

The final deadline for handing in shoe boxes for the Christmas appeal is this coming Sunday, October 26. Boxes can be handed in to me at my office at St Alphonse, or after Mass on Sunday.

This weekend we move to Winter Time, so clocks will go back one hour during Saturday night. Please remember to adjust your clocks and watches, or else you will arrive for Mass on Sunday one hour early, and you will be left wondering why it is in French!

This week we will be continuing with the Belmont Mass setting. In November, we will introduce another Mass setting, the Heritage Mass. Our aim is to have several Mass settings that we know well, and with which we can join in together, led by the choir and the music group. Whereas it is difficult to have a large repertoire of hymns that we all know (each country having its own tradition), a repertoire of Mass settings will enable us to sing together in praise of God.
