Did anyone take photos of our procession to the Octave Mass? I seem to remember a camera moving around (with somebody holding and pointing it, of course!). I would be grateful if you are that person if you could send the photos so I can put some up on our website. Thanks, Fr Ed
Our parish Music Group, who sang and played ‘magically’ at the First Communion Mass (as so often) will continue playing regularly at Mass, especially on the First Sunday of each month. They are always looking for new members — enthusiasm is more important than skill, and all are welcome. We are particularly hoping to involve the children who have made their First Communion — and indeed, all children! Rehearsals are each Wednesday in the church of St Alphonse at 19:00, and after the 11:15 Mass each Sunday. When you sing, you pray twice over, as St Augustine said! Fr Ed
Many thanks to our (nascent) parish choir, who sang so well for our International Mass on Wednesday last, 21 May (more about the Mass shortly). In a short space of time, they managed to learn and sing worthily a considerable repertoire — including ‘Leif Mamm’! Thanks also to Renée Schmidt of the archdiocese for her help and encouragement both at rehearsals and during the Mass. The choir will continue to meet for rehearsals each Tuesday evening in the church of St Alphonse at 19:00. New members are always welcome. The rehearsals resume (after a well-earned break) on 3 June.
