Mass today (May 1st) is in English & French, and will be celebrated at 10:00. As well as being a public holiday, it is the feast of St Joseph the Worker. All welcome! Fr Ed
NO ENGLISH-SPEAKING MASS MAY 11TH
There will be no English-speaking Mass at St Alphonse on Sunday May 11th. This is due to the Messe du Peuple de Dieu taking place at the cathedral at 10:30. I am sorry for any inconvenience this will cause, and for losing our weekly meeting together, but the archbishop requires the priests of the various language groupings to be present, and invites all the congregations also. Mass the following week will, of course, be for the First Holy Communions. Fr Ed
EASTER JOY
Our celebrations of Easter this year were truly worthy, by God’s grace and the hard work of so many people, of this great feast. If anything further were needed to confirm that our move to St Alphonse has been blessed, here it was. Over the days from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, the Music Group, Organists, Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Catechists, welcomers and others gave so much time and energy to the liturgy. It was both gratifying and inspiring to see so many people taking part in the Triduum, where the atmosphere of reverence and the numbers attending were extraordinary. Sincere thanks to all who worked so hard, and prayed so well, at this most important time of the Church’s year. Fr Ed.
