As part of their preparation, the confirmation candidates have been volunteering in the community in different ways.

A group of them is now appealing for donations of dry foods and personal hygiene products to support the Luxembourg Food Bank (www.banquealimentaire.lu) and Bonnevoie Church, which organise the distribution of these items to people in need. The need is especially great at this time of year.

The confirmation candidates will be collecting donations after the Sunday morning Masses in Belair from Sunday 1st March until the end of Lent.

Please DO give: Canned meat, fish, vegetables or fruit; tomato sauce; pasta; rice; cereals; tinned soup; instant coffee; jams; chocolate; cocoa; biscuits; UHT milk; baby food; personal hygiene products (toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo etc.) 

Please DO NOT give: Fresh products, cash.

The Irish Club is organising a Gala evening on 17th March 2026 at the Hotel Le Royal.

The Club has a long history of fundraising for causes including the Dublin Simon Community, the Capuchin Day Center and Stëmm vun der Strooss Luxembourg (in support of homeless people), Think Pink Luxembourg, and the Ilula Orphan Program (IOP), whilst also organising Team Ireland to participate in the annual ‘Relais pour la Vie’ in aid of Fondation Cancer Luxembourg.

The Club can only continue to thrive with the support of its members. So please contribute to your Club’s event either through participation or donating a tombola prize.

The Gala evening will start with a crémant reception at  6.30pm, followed by a gourmet 3 course menu, (incl. white & red wines), produced by the wonderful Chef Paul of Le Royal:

Entree Smoked salmon parcels, arugula

Main Course Grain fed Poultry Supreme, Jus, Pommes Dauphines Beurre Noisette, Glazed Carrots

Dessert 70% chocolate delight with smooth geranium heart

Vegetarian option:

Entree Leek vinaigrette with kiwi and orange, pickled red onion, Fromage blanc & mustard, leek oil

Main Course Open ravioli with heirloom vegetables, Parmesan cream, crushed chestnuts and lovage emulsion

Dessert Velvety salted butter caramel disc with candied kumquat

Tickets:  €125 per person – Dress code: Semi-formal.

Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent and this year it falls on 18th February. There will be Mass in English, with the distribution of ashes, at 18:00 in St.Michel, Luxembourg-Ville
