If you are not able to attend Mass in person this weekend, please click on the Mass sheet below for the hymns and notices.
Seats at Sunday 11.30 Mass
We are reaching capacity with seats available in St Alphonse at the 11.30 Mass. Please arrive in good time for Mass and that helps the welcomers to seat people as efficiently as possible under Covid restrictions. If you arrive and the church is already full you may unfortunately be turned away – there is Mass in French at 12 noon at the cathedral. We are trying to add extra chairs where we can safely.
Alternatively the Sunday evening 18.30 Mass has more space at the moment, so please consider attending that Mass. Thank you for your understanding.
Praying the Rosary
Members of the English-speaking Community come together before Sunday Mass to pray the Rosary as a group. The Garden Room is available for this group from 10.30am on Sunday mornings and from 5.30pm in the evening. Please just turn up if you would like to join in.
Fr Michael Cusack CSsR
If you haven’t seen the announcement in the Sunday Mass sheets, Cardinal Hollerich has appointed Fr Michael Cusack from the Irish Redemptorists to take over from Fr Ed early in October. Fr Michael hopes to spend a few days here doing a handover the week before Fr Ed’s departure.
Children’s Liturgy online – 30 August 2020

In the Gospel today, Jesus tells his disciples that he will suffer and die. They don’t want this to happen. But Jesus says that, even if it is hard, it is the right thing to do, and it will be worth it in the end. Everyone who takes up their cross and follows God will be rewarded by the Father in Heaven.
Saint Oscar Romero was the Archbishop of San Salvador, a city in Latin America. In 1980 he was killed for the work he did to spread God’s Word and help the poor. In his country, it is traditional to paint crosses not only with the image of Jesus but also with pictures from everyday life. It shows how we can all take up our cross and be followers of God in everything we do.
You can colour in your own Romero Cross here. (Thanks to CAFOD for the image and the inspiration.)
