Internship info appeal

I received the following request from my Redemptorist Provincial in the UK:

I asked you some time ago if you are aware of any possibilities for a young university student next summer in Luxembourg and you suggested I write to you.

The student’s father is professor of cardiology at Dundee teaching university and his mother is the chief consultant cardiologist in the same hospital.

He is a very bright young man and is in his first year at Edinburgh University reading international law. He is fluent in Spanish, French Mandarin and Bahasa.

He has worked for the Redemptorists before and the whole family have walked the Camino helping out in our centre in Astorga.

He is looking for some kind of internship perhaps next August and September if that would be possible. You may know some people in Luxembourg who might be able to point him in the correct direction. He will be 19 but has a good degree of maturity and has travelled extensively.

If you do find anyone who can assist, please do let me know.

Volunteers needed for mobile library for refugees

The Red Cross sponsors a mobile library for refugees and volunteers are needed to help with the visits, usually on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.  No special skills are necessary, just a smile and some knowledge of either French or Luxembourgish
would be an enormous plus.

Theobar 5th Anniversary Event

Theobar will be celebrating its 5th anniversary with a special event on Wednesday 6 February at 19:30 at the Big Beer Company, 12 Rives de Clausen, L-2165 Luxembourg.  This will be a panel discussion on faith in Luxembourg and Europe; one of the speakers will be Mgr Jean-Claude Hollerich, Archbishop of Luxembourg.  The topic for debate will be the role and future of the Church in a society marked by the separation of Church and State.  Discussion will be in French, English and Luxemburgish.
