My name is Ursula, living in Ireland.
My local parish is http://cavanparish.com/ and our local Priest Fr. Kevin Donohoe

My son Morgan and a fellow student Connor,  is fin Luxembourg for the past 10 days as they are fortunate to have  work with Credit Suisse in the city.  they are in a hotel at the moment as there is no room in any of the hostels.  They searched all over the city for more suitable accommodation that does not cost the same as hotel prices, but so far they have had no luck.

We are contacting anyone with knowledge that might help and that is why I am contacting you in the hope that you can help.

I am wondering do you know the name of anybody that takes in lodgers on a bed and breakfast basis, or has a room to rent, or flat share?  We are happy to pay deposits and reasonable rents.

They are very good and well mannered boys studying in University of Limerick in Ireland.  The college has arranged the work, but they cannot find accommodation for them.

They can give you references from the College, and Ursula Dahm at Credit Suisse can confirm they are genuine.  Needless to say, I can give you references from our local bishop or Fr. Donohoe if you need them.

Sunday 7 July marks the last Mass of the English-speaking community in Hollerich (11am). Until further notice, all our Masses will be in St Alphonse — please note time change for Sunday: Saturday, 7pm, Sunday, 11.15am. Mass is also celebrated in English each Wednesday at 7.30am at St Alphonse.

Our Mass on 7 July will be a Mass of thanksgiving for all the graces our community has received over the 29 years it has met for Mass at SS Peter & Paul. We have invited the Curé Moderateur, P. Kroeger, members of the Fabrique d’Eglise, Abbé Hierzig (regular celebrant in Hollerich) and the Missionnaires Immaculée de  Maximilan Kolbe; whilst P. Kroeger has other Sunday engagements, we hope to welcome our other invitees.

We are reserving our ‘grand celebration’ for our move to our new home, wherever that might be. The archdiocese are working on our behalf to find a suitable church for us; our consultation meeting last Sunday (30 June) heard of several possible venues. For now, we watch, wait and pray!

As our time in Hollerich draws to a close, so, temporarily, does our provision of tea, coffee and cakes after Mass. This is a pity: not only does it give us a chance to socialise and catch up with each other, but it has also been a significant source of revenue for the project we support in Garango, Burkina Faso. This year, including €50 from the Maltese children’s baking session, we are sending over €1,900 to Garango from the tea & coffee fund — a great achievement, adding to the regular amounts sent over the years. Thank you to Annette Power and to all who have helped prepare and serve the refreshments over the years, and all who have contributed to the funds. To those who have been serving, and those who haven’t yet helped, don’t get too comfortable — we hope you’ll be back on duty soon!

UPDATE: Annette has done the maths, and from our arrival in Hollerich to our departure in 2013, the tea/coffee provision after Sunday Mass has raised over 34,500 euro. This is amazing: the constant, faithful efforts of a few, with the support of the many, can accomplish great things!
