FR ED HOLIDAY

As our community already knows, the couvent of St Alphonse is currently being emptied in preparation for the restructuration planned to begin next month; at the same time, the community are in the process of moving to our temporary residence (18-24 months) to the couvent des Sœurs de la Doctrine Chrétienne, Maison Vatelot, near the Gare Centrale. We hope to have completed the move, if not entirely the emptying of the couvent St Alphonse, by next weekend, 16/17 August. I will be away from Luxembourg from 17/08 until 27/08, on holiday in Britain. In my absence, Fr Dominic O’Toole CSsR will be resident with the other Redemptorists in Maison Vatelot, celebrating the Anglophone Masses, hearing confessions, and fulfilling other duties as required. I will, as always, be available via my mobile, and via email, for any urgent matters that may arise.

With best wishes for a good August,

Fr Ed

AUGUST 15 — FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION

This coming Friday, August 15, is the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady into heaven. As usual on major feasts, Mass times are as for Sunday: Vigil Mass on Thursday evening, 14 August, 19:00, and the main English-language Mass for the Feast is on Friday at 11:15. This feast, called in the Eastern Catholic and Orthodox churches  The’Dormition’  or ‘Falling Asleep’ of Our Lady, celebrates the reception of the Mother of God into the glory of heaven at the end of her life. All are welcome!
