Children’s Liturgy online – 22 March 2020

Look 200322Our Children’s Liturgy during the 11:15 Mass each Sunday is a vital part of our community life. For many children, this is their only formal religious education. To make up for being unable to meet in person, we want to share with you each Sunday some resources so that you can organise your own Children’s Liturgy at home.

You can download the LOOK worksheet for today, the Fourth Sunday of Lent, here: LOOK-Sunday-22nd-March-2020.

CAFOD (the Catholic Fund for Overseas Development in England & Wales) today organised for the first time a live-streamed Children’s Liturgy, the recording of which you can view here. You can download the related worksheet here.

The Children’s Liturgy always focuses on the Gospel of the day. Today’s reading is rather long, with a lot of important concepts, and may be difficult to explain depending on the age of your child. Here is a slightly shortened version nevertheless: Children Liturgy 220320. The core message is explained in the excerpt from LOOK quoted in the picture above.

Saturday Compline/Night Prayer

We continue with our online Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament this evening, Saturday, from 21:00-22:00. Join us if you can. At 21:50 we will pray Compline (the official Night Prayer of the Church). You can find the text here.

Tomorrow, Sunday, Fr Ed & Fr HP will celebrate Mass together at 11:15, and this will be broadcast on FaceBook live. Even if you do not have a FB account, you can follow our live events: log on to Facebook.com and search for St Alphonse, and you’ll land on our page. A bientôt!
