All Saints & All Souls

All Saints and All Souls:

Two great feasts of the Church occur this week: on Friday, All Saints, celebrating all the faithful departed who are in the presence of God in glory; All Souls commemorates those we have loved and lost and who we commend to God’s mercy, confident they too will be received into glory.

You are, of course, welcome to all Masses!

Masses in English:

Thursday 31 October — Vigil Mass: 19:00
Friday 1 November — All Saints, 11:00 & 17:00
Saturday 3 November — All Souls, 11:00

(with Vigil for Sunday as usual 19:00)

2 Conferences in November

The Conférence St Yves is an association of Catholic Lawyers and friends in Luxembourg, and regularly organises conferences on a range of subjects. The most recent conference, in October, was on Cardinal Newman who was recently canonised in Rome.

Two upcoming conferences (open to all) promise to be interesting also: The Protestant Bishopric in Jerusalem — its origins, development and legacy (November 11th)  The Holy Land is of great importance to Jews, Christians and Muslims — and of course to the major Christian denominations. This conference will shed light on the Protestant presence in Jerusalem and environs — the establishment of this Protestant bishopric was a significant factor in the conversion of John Henry Newman to Catholicism. for further details about the conference and details on how to register see the flyer here.

The second conference of the month (19th November) is on The Law and Drugs — the question of the legalisation of Cannabis in Luxembourg. This topic reflects a debate happening in Western Europe and throughout the Western world. Details and registration information on the flyer here.

Marriage preparation Day – Saturday 30 November 2019

Planning on getting married in the next year or so?

Our marriage preparation team is running another course on Saturday 30 Novembe2019 at the Centre Jean XXIII in Kirchberg.   To obtain a registration form please contact the parish office by clicking here

This course is for couples preparing for marriage: it’s not about preparing you for the ceremony itself, but for the rest of your married life together. These days have been both popular and highly rated; input is given by trained Marriage Preparation presenters, and as couples you have an opportunity also to share your own experience of life together.
The course is for Catholic and non-Catholic partners.
Exceptionally (due to scheduling issues, for example) you can take the course after your church wedding. To cover costs, we ask €100 from each couple; if this is beyond your means, no problem — again, just get in touch. Refreshments and lunch are provided.
