TheoBar Lux presents: Online with God

When?

Thursday 3 May, 19:30-21:00

Where?

Mäertchen on Place Guillaume, at the Schlaw’iner tent !

What?

Since the start of the digital era, people and institutions alike have undergone huge transformations; from the comfort of homes and the way people think straight to world-stage politics.

But how does the Catholic Church adapt with these changes brought by the internet? in what ways is the Church’s role of evangelization facilitated by the use of masscommunication? And what do these digital implication mean for the Church?

Who?

Father Michel Remery will help us find an answer to these questions. Ordained priest in 2004, he is the author of the book “Tweeting with GOD”, translated in many languages, and was a member of an advisory committee on new media and young people at the Vatican office for Internet affairs. Since 2018, Father Michel continued his priestly mission in Luxembourg, where he is the national youth chaplain.

Translators needed

Translators needed
From time to time we receive letters and other documents, written in French,  of significance to our parish community. We need translations into English, and occasionally help with composing a response in French. A member of our community has kindly been helping us in this regard, but suggests that as we have so many people who translate/interpret as part of their work, it would be good to share the task. The appeal: can we have volunteers to be part of a team willing and able to translate from French to English, and vice versa ?

Letters/documents include the Archbishop’s Pastoral Letters, invitations from the archdiocese to participate in events, and letters pertaining to the relation between our parish community and the Redemptorist community at St Alphonse.

The tasks for the team are not numerous, one or two documents per month, so for individual volunteers this would be a very occasional task.

If you can do this, and can spare the time, your help will be gratefully received.

Thank you,

Fr Ed
