Parishioner seeking employment

An active member of our community is seeking employment:

“I’m ready for a new challenge in any area. I could start with people who need help in their homes like ironing, laundry, cleaning up of the house, home administrator, laundry. I have varied qualifications and experience, listed on my CV.

In addition, if you know of any job opportunities or leads that you might be able to share with me related to my Profession, please share my CV.

I studied Human Resource Management but the challenge I have here in Luxembourg is the language barrier (fluent English, beginner French, plus local languages from my home country). I’ve attached my C.V for your reference and feel free to pass it along.”

If you would like to see the CV, please contact me.

Thanks,

Fr Ed

Feast of the Assumption, 15th August (amended)

Feast of the Assumption, 15th August

AUGUST 15 — FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION

This coming Tuesday, August 15, is the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady into heaven.

As usual on major feasts, Mass times (in English) are as for Sunday: Vigil Mass on Monday  evening, 14 August, 19:00, and the main English-language Mass for the Feast is on Tuesday at 11:15.

This feast, called in the Eastern Catholic and Orthodox churches  The’Dormition’  or ‘Falling Asleep’ of Our Lady, celebrates the reception of the Mother of God into the glory of heaven at the end of her life. All are welcome!

Tea & Coffee Update

Money raised
So far this year, our tea and coffee ‘café’ at the back of church has raised over €3000.00 for missionary projects in Garango, Burkina Faso. Many thanks to Annette Power who is the driving force and organiser behind this important aspect of our parish life, and to all the teams on the rota who refresh us and help us mix each week.

Summer Rota
It is always a challenge to ensure there will be a team each week during the holiday season: if you are available any weekend during July, August and September, could you let Annette know, or sign up on the rota sheet at the 11:15 Mass. The Sunday refreshments are a vital part of the ‘social glue’ that keeps our community together, giving us an opportunity to meet and chat.

Contributing
Our refreshments are not sold to you, but donations are politely asked for — in this way we further help people in a country less well-off than our own. If you take tea, coffee or lemonade, please do consider making a donation.

Thanks,

Fr Ed
