Our parishioner, Steve McCarthy, is proposing to organise a small study group of Pope Francis’ encyclical: Laudato Si. As most people will know this encyclical concerns the environment; but it is much more than that since it explores how environmental issues of are closely interwoven with those of social justice and inequalities of wealth and income across the world and how Christians should respond.
The study group would take place under the auspices of the JPIC group (Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation) which is organised by our sister Anglican parish here in Luxembourg but is open to people of all churches – or none. (See the parish notice of December 29 last.)
The Laudato Si study group would probably meet about once a month, somewhere in Luxembourg City, and look at each of its seven chapters in turn. Anyone interested should contact Steve at sjmc@pt.lu by with a view to setting up a first meeting in March.
If you would like to be informed of other activities of JPIC please contact Philippa Seymour at pseymour@pt.lu
We have received the following request concerning Pope Francis’ Encyclical letter, Laudato Si.
