Anglicans on the Move
The Anglican community are moving from the Konvict chapel to the church in Cents, initially for a trial period from next Sunday until the end of February next year. We have had our own recent experience of moving from a long-established location to our present home in St Alphonse, and know something of the growing pains, but more importantly, the great blessings such a move can bring.

The first services they will hold in Cents’ church will be held on Sunday next, 6th November. I would like to propose that we (as many of us as possible) will join our Anglican friends for Choral Evensong that evening, which is at 18:30. As from Sunday 27th November (1st Sunday of Advent) there will be an additional Sunday Mass at St Alphonse. During the winter months (i.e. until Easter) the Mass will be at 17:00, and during the summer months (i.e. until 1st October) the Mass will be at 19:00.

The additional Mass is to relieve the pressure on the 11:15 Mass, which as those who attend it know well, is very full, and with all the children present, quite ‘lively’ to say the least!

The Sunday evening Mass will be quiet and meditative, offering a gentle close to the weekend.

For the time being, arrangements for Readers and Eucharistic Ministers will be informal (ie. not organised by rota). This extra Mass is for an experimental period (duration to be decided) to ascertain if there is sufficient demand.

Masses in English for the Feast of All Saints, as advertised in the parish newsletter, are at 19:00 this evening (Monday 31 October) and 11:15 tomorrow (1 November).

“My wife and I along with 5 of our children and grandchildren are visiting Luxembourg 16 November through 1 December.  We plan to attend Mass at St. Alphonse.

There will be a Mass in English on Wednesday (2nd November) at 10:00 for the Feast of All Souls (the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed). In recent years this Mass has been in English/French/Spanish, but this year the regular Wednesday Masses remain in place — 07:30 (English) and 18:15 (French). Apologies for the late notice, but this change has only just been drawn to my attention (I should have checked sooner!).

The Mass at 10:00 is being offered for all your beloved departed. If you wish the names of those you have loved and lost to be included in the prayers, please drop me an email between now and then.
