Mass of the People of God – 22 April 2018

Next Sunday our community is invited to join the other linguistic communities and the wider Church in Luxembourg for the Messe du Peuple de Dieu (“Mass of the People of God”) with the Archbishop in the Cathedral. This event marks the start of the Octave of Our Lady Mother of God, the highpoint in the Luxembourg Church year for nearly four centuries.

  • 9:30: Procession from St Alphonse to the Cathedral led by our altar servers, music group and first communion children. All welcome.
  • 10:00 Mass in the Cathedral in different languages.
  • 12:00 Community lunch at the Octave Market on Place Guillaume. To reserve a place, please sign up at the following link by Friday 20 April: doodle.com/poll/85aqe6fhczu7qcqv. Menu à la carte and payment direct to restaurant.

Concert 5 May

United in Jesus — concert of sacred music including Panis Angelicus, O Salutaris Hostia, Taizé chants. This concert is presented by superb musicians and singers, and we are blessed to welcome them to our church.  Entrance collection in aid of children in need in Latvia. This event is not simply a concert, but an encounter with our Risen Lord. Recommended!

I referred this weekend (7-8 April) to an emotion called ‘elevation’. The article which introduced me to the concept can be found here. Recordings of the homilies, as usual, are online shortly after the day on which they were preached. They can be accessed from the drop-down menu on the Masses tab on our homepage. Unfortunately  you will have to wait until next year before you can re-listen to homilies as a Lenten penance…
