We’re early off the mark this year with our shoebox appeal — each year we send shoeboxes containing useful items to children in countries less well-off than our own. Last year our community sent 165 boxes, and this year we hope to add 100 to that amount!
There are a number of ways in which you can contribute to this worthy cause:
- Contributing items for shoeboxes
- knitting/crocheting children’s scarves or hats
- organising schoolchildren to make Christmas cards for each box
- packing boxes prior to sending them
- publicising this appeal to people outside our parish community
To facilitate the purchase of items for boxes, there will be a sale after Mass on two weekends in October: 10th/11th & 17th/18th.
