Robert is a teacher of Philosophy and Religion from Croatia, and has come to Luxembourg to look for work. Currently he has nowhere to stay, and therefore can’t apply for a job in school. He speaks Croatian, German, Italian and English, and has his passport and other papers. He needs somewhere to stay for a maximum of one week. Can you help, either directly or by putting the word around? If you’d like to know more, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

A family in the parish have a female kitten, weaned and house-trained, and are looking for a good home for her. The rest of the litter have been placed, and this one remains. I’m told she’s very cute and playful!

We’re early off the mark this year with our shoebox appeal — each year we send shoeboxes containing useful items to children in countries less well-off than our own. Last year our community sent 165 boxes, and this year we hope to add 100 to that amount!

There are a number of ways in which you can contribute to this worthy cause:

• Contributing items for shoeboxes
• knitting/crocheting children’s scarves or hats
• organising schoolchildren to make Christmas cards for each box
• packing boxes prior to sending them
• publicising this appeal to people outside our parish community

To facilitate the purchase of items for boxes, there will be a sale after Mass on two weekends in October: 10th/11th & 17th/18th.
